Happy Thursday and welcome to week one of the One Room Challenge. I am really excited to be a guest participant sharing with you a project that we are doing for a client of ours. This is the first time that I have ever taken this challenge so I’m really excited. My client wanted this project competed by the up coming holidays in November and December so this will be a great motivation for both of us. I will be updating you on a week by week bases for the next six (6) weeks, I will be sharing it on my blog, Instagram and on Facebook.
If you are new to Harmonizing Homes, we are a interior design and home staging company located in New Jersey. We specialize in approachable, comfortable interiors, incorporating soft beach colors and clean lines.
I am on my second career, and now that I am doing what I love, I never feel like I am working!
We are doing a makeover of a family room. My client wanted it comfy, with a relaxing feel to the room, natural palette, soft comfy pillows with rolled armed sofa arms. She wanted plenty of seating for when her college children come back home during their breaks.
The issues with the room is that there are many windows, along with sky lights which makes watching television an issues. The fire placed needed to be updated, new window treatments with shades were a must, new rug, sofa and tables. Her inspiration for the room was a local artist that she loves.
Here are the before pictures of the family room that we will be working on.
We do have a budget so we will have to pick and choose the items that will fit within the restrictions. I will share the process along the way….I hope you will enjoy the next 5 weeks going forward. Please feel free to ask my any questions along the way.
