I don’t know about you but we have a lot of guests during the summer months. We live in New Jersey as we call it “down the shore”. I have fortunate that I have three empty rooms for guests. For the summer I like to keep it simple. I love crisp white sheets on a bed and you look great in bed with a tan! I keep my rooms very simple. I always have a blanket folded down at the end of the bed in case someone gets cold in the middle of the night when the air conditioner is on. I use bright summer colors in pillows and in a vase of flowers. You want to make sure that you have two end tables, they don’t have to be matchy- matchy which does add another element of interest. Also make sure that you have a bench or a chair so that your guest can sit an put on their shoes and lay their clothes on.
To get ready for your summer guests is easy, take a ride to Target or home goods you don’t have to spend a fortune. If you have pillows already and you want to brighten them up go on amazon.com and look for pillow covers (I added the link for you).
Both of these are from target and less than one hundred dollars… You can find a lamp or two at target or home goods and you have a nice new updated guest room. Â Or if you have an old end table that has water marks and stain. Bring it out side and either spray paint it with some chalk paint available at Lowes, or bring out purchase some Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint. Here is a piece that I did a few years ago…simple
All I’m saying is that you can do it in a weekend and you don’t have to spend a lot of money doing it…
